Our clients needed a bigger social area for their large family gatherings and the existing layout was awkward with small rooms and angled walls to work with. By squaring off the existing living room and removing a central wall at the back, it has created the large social space our clients desired with the glazed gable and sky lights in the roof this flooded the new space with light.
The project was kept within the permitted development guidelines so did not require planning permission. All structural calculations and building control applications were carried out by Thorns-Young and our client had a set of approved plans and calculations ready for the builder to make a start.
